Dylan is ONE!!!

Wow...where did time go? Dylan turned one yesterday!!! It seems like last week that I was in the hospital staring at her and wondering how I was going to take care of that tiny little thing. With a little (or lot) of help from all my wonderful family and friends...we made it to one year!!!
She has been such an amazing baby and we can't wait to experience "toddler" years with her.

We had her birthday party on Saturday at a little park here in our neighborhood and invited a few close friends and family...very quaint. There was a little mishap with the sprinklers at the very beginning, but once we found the shut off valve, we were good. Dylan did great...once she got a feel for the cake, she went in no handed. It was so cute!! Thank you to everyone that came!!! I have to give a huge thank you to Forrest for being the photographer...he did such a great job!!!

A little update on her development...she is chatting up a storm. Some of her favorite words are...doggie, kitty, hi, mama, dada, out (outside), baby. She is not walking on her own yet, although I think it could be any day now...We're not in any huge hurry:) She just started waving and now (as of Saturday) starts clapping when you say "yay" to her.

Proud big brother, Chandler...and you wonder where she gets her looks!!! Dylan is a miniature of him!

Aja and one of her beautiful daughters, Sophia...her other daughter, Mia, was off playing on the playground

My cousin, Ashley's, little girl, Brea. She is only two months older than Dylan, such a beautiful little girl!! She and Mia were helping Dylan open her presents.

Opening presents!!! She got such fun things...thanks everyone!!

Dylan's own personal cake...just the round one in the middle!! We would be in big trouble if she were to eat all of that!!

Awww...finally, the cake. Here she is testing the waters a little

Here is Jon trying to help her "find her way"!!

At this point she gave up on the hands and just dove in...like mother, like daughter!!

Trying to share with dad...so cute!!

4th of July celebrations

OK....so I know this is a little late, but, I have to tell you all how much fun we had this 4th of July. Dylan and I went up to Idaho to spend the holiday with Chad, Amie, and Ava. We had an absolute blast. On Friday, we went to a local water park for the day, then over to Amie's parents house for a little bbq (little as in Filet Minon, salads, fruit, the whole spread...you know little:)) and watched fireworks, thanks Gary and Teri!!! Dylan did really good with the fireworks, I thought she would be a little scared, but she wasn't at all. On Saturday, my mom watched the two girls while my dad, Chad, Amie, and I went with Amie's family on their annual trip to run the river...so much fun!! That night we went to Amie's parents for homemade pizza's...yum!! I just have to say that Amie's family was so nice to let us share their holiday with them, thank you to all!! Here are a few pics from the weekend!!

Just thought I would update everybody to let them know that Tuesday night Forrest was invited to tryout again for Sparta (competition soccer team)...we got word last night that he made the team!!! He is so excited and we, of course, are so proud of him. Our lives are about to get a little more crazy than they already are...bring it on!!!

A day on the lake...

After much begging...we were finally able to go boating at Jordanelle a couple weekends ago. Thanks mom & dad!! Here are some pictures of the trip. We had a blast!! This was Dylan's first time on the boat, and I'll have to say that she did really well (besides having to wear her life jacket):) The lake was still pretty cold, so she didn't get to experience that yet. We are going up again at the end of the month, hopefully the water will be a little warmer then!!

Here is Dylan in her "evil" life jacket...they don't make these things very practical for when they are sitting!!

Jon, Dad, and Copper chillin in the shade!!

Forrest and Chandler playing a little lawn golf...

Grandma Meadows and Dylan

This is Dylan sleeping under the passenger chair of the boat...the way we used to when we were kids!!!

Our cute boys, they are sporting their new summer do's (so handsome!!)...seriously had to do some convincing for this one

Dad being captain

Forrest didn't know I was taking this one...notice that Chandler has his back to me at all times when the camera comes out!

Happy Father's Day!!

We had a very relaxing Father's Day yesterday. The boys stayed the night, we did the coffee thing in the morning (of course, Jon can't function without his daily fix!!), went bowling, did dinner over at Jon's parents house (amazing, as usually), stopped by the Meadows shindig for a minute, then went home. Here is a picture of Dylan with Grandpa Mike and Grandpa Meadows!! Disappointed to report that of all days...I didn't get a pic with Dylan and Jon:( I am so bad at taking pictures. Anyway, hope all you father's had an amazing day!! And, thank you to all the fathers in our lives, we love you!! But, especially to Jon for being such an amazing husband and father.

Dylan's first big injury

Well Dylan had her first "big" injury this weekend...you know, besides the scrapes and bruises of everyday crawling life. She was taking her nap on Saturday afternoon and Jon heard a big thud, followed by a death curdling scream. His first thought...she crawled out of the crib (not likely, but I guess anything can happen). He went upstairs to find her in her crib with a nose bleed. He brought her down to me to get the blood all wiped off, then we were off to investigate. We found...nothing. We are assuming that she was standing in the crib and somehow hit her nose on the top of the side rail. The thing is is that it is skinned up to where the cut is, sad!! I know there will be a lot worse in the future, but this was pretty tramatic on us all.

Finally...an update!!!

Well...I warned that I may not be too good at this blogging thing!!! But, here I am finally with an update. First, let's start with the boys...
Forrest's soccer season ended a couple of weeks ago, he was the star of his team with at least a couple of goals each game!! He tried out for Sparta (a competition soccer club) and broke his foot during tryouts, he is now wearing a walking cast :( We are still waiting on the results of the tryouts, with big hopes! We will keep you posted....
Chandler still has one more soccer game left!! He is also doing a great job this season, he is the best goalie on his team, or in his age group for that matter!! I think we could call Chandler Dylan's # 1 fan and vice versa. He loves carrying Dylan around the house, spinning her, playing the drums for her, you name it...he does it. It is so cute!! Both the boys are such a huge help with Dylan, I am so lucky to have them!!
Last week the boys went with their mom to South Dakota and had a blast!! They drove there and stayed in a cabin with some of their aunts and uncles and their grandma. They saw Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and so much more. Forrest took a ton (by a ton, I mean over 900) of pictures...I will try to get him to get on here to post a few! Now, they are just waiting for school to end...5 more days!! They can't wait for summertime! They are planning a trip up to Payson Lakes in June and we are hoping for a week at Jordanelle in July.
Dylan is now 10 months and changing daily!! She started crawling about a month and a half ago and we can barely keep up. As soon as we set her down on the floor, she either heads for the stairs (which she climbs very well now) or out the back door...before getting to either, she turns around to make sure we are watching, then smiles (knowing that both are off limits) and continues!! Her first tooth broke through a couple of weeks ago with her second to follow about a week later!! She is a great eater...though, her measurements don't reflect it...she is in the 15 percentile, just a wee one:)
Jon & I are still just plugging away as usual...not much new with us!!
Here are a few recent pics...enjoy!!

One of the few pictures of Forrest we were able to take, the boys really don't like their picture taken (maybe a little of Grammie T and their dad in them!!)

I had to bribe Chandler for this one...

Dylan showing off her shoe fettish!!

Stuffing her mouth with one of her favorites...Cheerios!

Here are the dogs...Tahoe is showing off his baby...

Just hanging out in the highchair

We get a little messy with dinner sometimes...I think she was showing off for the boys!!

Ski day at Solitude

Here's Jon and the boys livin it up on the slopes. They only got to go up a couple of times, but had a blast when they did!!! On the way down the canyon on the last trip, they saw this moose off the side of the road!!

Dylan and I stayed behind this year, maybe next year we'll be able to get her up there. We are having a family battle over what she will do...ski or snowboard!! Forrest, of course, wants a boarding buddy and Chandler wants her to be like the rest of us...only time (and Dylan) will tell!!
